Dear Nexopia,
I have a confession to make. I recently created an account, posing as a 15-year-old girl. I didn't do this to lure people into soliciting pornography, or to fulfill some bizarre need impersonate a young woman. I did this to see what the young women of Nexopia have to deal with on a daily basis.
I see the shouts and the forum topics all the time: "Eww there are so many creeps on here?!" "Why are all these older men hitting on me?" "Why are men such pigs?" Being someone who rarely sends messages to people outside my age range (and its never of a sexual nature I assure you), I found it difficult to believe that the men on this website were that bad. That they could be the disgusting, shameless sex hounds I hear so many young women complaining about. That men in a first-world society could show such classless disregard for the respect of a young woman. I was wrong.
Within 20 minutes of signing up, 20. TWENTY different people had already messaged me. Most of the messages were mild, and to be expected. "Hey gorgeous!" "Omg ur so hot." "hey? how are you?" ect. But at least 20% of the messages I received were of a blatant sexual manner. I even had one man in his late 20's, offer several hundred dollars to have sex with him. Some were messages of the things they would have like to "do" to this young girl I was claiming to be. I'll spare you the details.
After an hour I had received over 50 different messages. It was really overwhelming. Being an ugly old man, I'm not used to seeing this kind of message volume. The worst part is, not one single person who i engaged in conversation with, could keep the sexual content out of the conversation beyond 3 messages. Within at least 3 messages, the man (I use this term quite appropriately) would ask a blatantly sexual question. I came to expect this, but from younger guys (14-18). Repulsively, the majority of the sexual questions were coming from people over the age of 23. Now, I may not be a role model for how you should conduct your life, but even I know that adults sending messages of a sexual nature to girls in grade 10 is highly inappropriate.
I've come to realize that the vast majority of males of this website are scum. Lonely, degenerate souls that are one bad day of drinking away from being locked up in a jail for sexual assault. Most guys that use this site are here to either lure women into having sex, to perform sexual acts on camera, or to trade nude pictures. All of which are highly illegal, given the age of the girl these men thought they were talking to. Some were more blatant than others, but it was very easy to predict where these men were going with these conversations. I am both disgusted and ashamed to share the same chromatic structure and the same oxygen as these vile, pathetic excuses for human beings. It's even more infuriating when people who I actually know, are on here trying to lure young girls into trading pornographic images...
To all you ladies young and old on this site, I would like to apologize on behalf of all the guys on here who aren't total perverts. I now completely understand the kind of bullshit you have to deal with on here, and I respect the fact that you haven't gone on a shooting rampage, and/or deleted your account. I would also like to apologize to the few good people who tried to message me while i was "undercover." Sorry to get your hopes up. I'm not a hot 15-year-old girl, I'm actually a hairy 24-year-old man who can repeatedly bench-press you. I would like to apologize to people who thought it below me to create a fake account. Sorry, I had to find out for myself. Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to say I am truly sorry for all you men who are so desperate you have to use a social networking website to prey on young women. Words cannot describe how incredibly sorry I am for you, and your redundant existence on this planet.
