HOW TO USE NEXOPIA MOBILE
How do I join?
Click "Get Started" above, or go to your preferences page to register your mobile. When you receive the confirmation text message, reply to it with "OK".
Once I join, how do I send a Private Message on my mobile?
After your Mobile registration has been confirmed, all you have to do is write a text message starting with PM and the username and send it to 121-121, and the message will show up in that user’s inbox.
Ex) PM Tod.Twitch Hey Tod, how's it going?
Once I join, how do I send a Shout on my mobile?
After your Mobile registration has been confirmed, all you have to do is write a text message as you would normally and send it to 121-121, and it will show up as a Shout on Nexopia.
How much does it cost when I text you?
We do not charge you for text messages or using this program. However, your mobile network operator will apply your standard text messaging charges, as per your agreed contract. Please ensure you have the bill payer's (phone owner's) consent to text us.
What does "standard text messaging charges apply" mean?
The amount charged for each message depends on your mobile service contract, but there is no premium charge. Please contact your carrier if you are unsure about how much you are charged for text messages in your plan. If you text a lot, find out about free text messaging bundled plans.
I have a 150/500/unlimited messaging bundle with my carrier. Will I be charged for these messages on top of my bundle fee?
Using Nexopia Mobile costs no more than messages you send to your friends. Please check with your carrier for more information about text messaging charges on your plan.
NOTE: Some carrier's SMS Rewards progams do not support short codes.
How do I exit from receiving texts?
To temporarily stop text updates, just text PAUSE to 121-121. To opt out and stop service, send the word STOP to 121-121 (standard text messaging charges apply.) You can also opt out online in your preferences.
Mobile Commands
Texting these commands to 121-121 have the following actions:
| PAUSE | This pauses incoming text messages. You can use this to turn off receiving updates from Nexopia. Note that you can still send Shouts with PAUSE on. |
| START | This restarts the incoming flow of text messages. If you have texted PAUSE and would like to restart the flow of SMS messages from Nexopia, text START. |
| STOP | This completely stops the flow of incoming text messages and unregisters you from the service. In order to start receiving messages again you will have to sign up for the service again on the site. |
| GUIDE | This will text you a message with a guide to the commands you can use on your SMS. |
| IGNORE username | This is the same as ignoring a user on the site, both their texts will be ignored and you will ignore them online as well. You can use this if you are getting replies from a user that you don't want to receive any longer. |
| PM username | Allows you to text another Nexopia user and the message will be sent to their private site inbox. |
| Anything not beginning with one of the above commands will be treated as a public Shout. |
