Conspiracy theories are from the curiosity to learn more about the truth and they can provide hypothesis.

Let’s say, if some researchers did not have the conspiracy of Neanderthals as not the ancestors of Homo Sapience, they could not even try to prove that their DNA were different from human beings. Those who changed the fact about Neanderthals would be instead sent to mental hospital.

Conspiracy theories are just hypothesis without proper evidences enough to become facts. I think the ones who only believe the truth they are told and learned in schools are just plain dumbs. “Oh, it’s not right because my teacher said…” “It’s not true because our president said so..” Yes, being intelligent can be seen as crazy from the ones who lucks ability to think more. I think Gartner can use the question, “does god exist?” to go over what he thinks. God’s existence is just a conspiracy theory as no one can prove or provide evidences. That’s why psychologists nor psychiatrists should not even judge things that are belong to different diciplines like philosophy or theology. He can claim all philosophers and theologists to be psychotic because they believe in conspiracy theories that are not stable enough and scholars inventing new theories..
