larsson kind of scares me a bit... to the point that he was so highly touted, ad his stocked seem to just keep dropping... that being said he went from the consensus 1st overall to maybe 1st overall, shows how highly touted he was before this year, because his year kind of sucked.

that and his combine results were pretty lack lustre, i think they were pretty bad actually, he was coming back from an injury and rehab, but that is another thing the oil don't need, an injury prone player.

also the last thing that scares me is i do not think by any means larson comes off loyal, like i feel by the end of his career he'll have played with quite a few teams, where as rnh really comes off as a small town boy really excited just to be in the nhl.

The Oilers seem to be doing a pretty good job of getting some guys who I could see loving playing for the Oilers for a long long time.

That is a happy fucking camper.

there is definitely alot of drafting either swedish or western canadian born players.

swedes do like to play together so having a few on the same team is pretty positive too

Having Paajarvi, Lander and Omark is a good base to bring in more Swedes. MPS and Omark are fairly highly touted young Swedes, and likeable guys from what I saw in Oil Change.

Lander and MPS are great friends and (i believe) old linemates.

I think with them, there won't be a problem bringing Klefbom and the others in when the time comes.

Plus, Sweden puts out some good fucking hockey players.

Needless to say, I am god damn excited.

[1990 cup final] This was thrown up on the Oil site, and watching it just reminds you of just how awesome those years were [or if you were a baby like me, how awesome they MUST have been]. I want to see this culture on our team again, and I think we're on our way... I can't wait.

i think belanger was a critical signing for the future of this team i believe... kind of like when we got peca in 2005-06.

watch when we contend he will be super vital to our success.

Belanger will be in a retirement home by the time the Oilers contend.

It's fun chirping other peoples teams if they have a sense of humor about it, and you bust each others chops about each others teams, but when that person doesn't have a sense of humor you can end up getting punched in the face lol.

I had a field day with my drummer when the Canucks lost in game 7 after he was so fucking sure that they'd win. He kinda got mad when I said the Sedin twins are telepathic aliens impostering as Swedish Hockey Players and are here to steal our Canadian gay men...lol but he busted my chops pretty hard when the Flames didn't even make the playoffs

moral of the story don't get butthurt, just have a sense of humor.

That being said, the Oilers suck. lol

Oh, if a guy's funny about it, sure. But half the guys in here have maybe 1/10 of a sense of humor. Running into a thread and going

OILERS SUCK

then running out is hardly funny. Grow a brain, learn how to be funny, and THEN chirp other teams. The chirping's weaker than here than it is at work, and I work with geriatric leaf fans.

Plus, when it's just an annoying thread de-railer, it gets ridiculous. I like talking hockey. Not constantly being interrupted by guys trying their hardest to chirp and failing miserably. I have more than a sense of humor, and I love taking shots back and forth, but at least be funny about it.

Oh man, I have so much fun being in Toronto.

They call the season, leafs season so casually out here like it's an actual term for the regular season. i lol'd at that.

i think in a couple years our d depth will be intense... especially if we pick up a couple via trade or ufa signing... we have some very promising dmen in our system now, musil, klefbom, marincin, gernat, teubert, and petry... if i am forgetting any...

and it kind of looks like a few will work out, we'll have better knowledge at the end of the season, but just watch gernat for the oil kings this year, he will be vital.

Just shows why we drafted him. His vision and decision making is sick. It'll compliment hall and eberle so much

Dude, if he can pull that off often enough, Eberle and Hall will be LAUGHING. He took the body pretty good there, too. The kid wants to play, and play hard. I'm getting more jacked as I watch him haha
