I have the Redken Iron guard (I think that's what it's called) and I really really like it.

 Sorry for changing the subject, but I wanted to post a quick review of a new shampoo and conditioner I've been trying since the beginning of August. It's called FAST and it claims to make your hair grow faster. Whatever, right? That's what I thought at first too, but I was game to try it and you know what? It actually worked.

My hair was a fried mess of bleach blonde and broken ends. It was pretty bad. I started using Fast at the beginning of August and didn't really notice too much in the way of growth for the first bit. BUT my hair started feeling a little bit healthier and thicker within 3 weeks. I wasn't doing anything different in my routine and I was still flat ironing and blow drying.

By the end of September, I had literally 2cm of roots. My hair was styling better, staying straighter longer and looking healthier. I didn't have flyaways or broken hairs sticking up all over the place and my hair was actually easier to dry. Not only that, but my hair is noticeably longer. It's almost to my shoulders now and I can ALMOST put it in a ponytail.

I'm pretty amazed, to say the least. I didn't think it would work at all, but I like playing with new products and figured 'what the hell'. I don't know why it worked because I think most of these products are scams and I wish I could say it was because I treated my hair better...but I really didn't. I deep conditioned my hair once over the course of the 2 month trial and that was only because I also toned it to remove the yellow and brass. I definitely didn't get miracles with this shampoo and conditioner pair, but I saw results. My hair was really damaged and for those of you with mostly healthy hair... you might see better results.

I'm still pretty amazed, guys.

 fast is good shit... i use it.... its loads your hair up with lots of essential protiens that make up hair... so thats why it restored the integrity of your hair.

 was it expensive? i definantly want to try it ASAP. i cut my hair into a bob 2 years ago and its still not long enough to get it ALL in a pony tail. not only that but it sits on my shoulders and the ends get all flippy and fucked up. i HATE my hair right now.

Not overly. I got litre bottles and I think I paid $50 for the set. I can't remember though. It definitely wasn't any more than other salon brands.

haha This is crazy! I had my hair cut end of july and it was hardly long enough to go into a ponytail (the elastic would slip right off and layers fell out everywhere) and now it's already long enough to put in a higher ponytail and have it tucked under (so I don't pull it through).

Have you ever had your thyroid checked?


Sarah, before I cut my hair I loved the Spin Pins. Maybe they aren't working quite right because of how you twist your hair or something because with those things in, my hair was not going anywhere.

yeah this might be my problem. i have trouble even keeping my hair in a ponytail (and i use the Goody ones with the elastic rubbery bits on them). i think if i hairspray my hair like nuts and then try, or maybe try them when my hair is unwashed, MAYBE it'll work better.


but I will have to keep trying to curl my hair around itself. i don't really know what i'm doing, i just twist things around, so i might have to just keep trying different things.

yeah i actually just did recently. i did just get diagnosed with PCOS which is effecting a shit ton of stuff inside me.. i wonder if how fast (or slow) my hair grows is related..!
