This can be managed through Preferences.

1. Click on "Preferences" in the top menu bar. You must be logged in to do this. Then click the "Account" tab and scroll to the Account Info section

2. Click the "change email address" link.

3. Type in your new email address and your current Nexopia password.

4. Click "Change email." You will be logged out, and a new activation email will be sent to your new email address. Follow the instructions in the email to reactivate your account.

You manage your password through Preferences.

1. Click on "Preferences" in the top menu bar. You must be logged in to do this.

2. Click the "Account" tab in your preferences, then scroll down to find the Account Info section. Click on the "change password" button

3. Enter your current password, and then your new password. Then, confirm your new password by entering it again.

4. Click "Change Password" and your password is instantly changed.

Here's how to get started

When you're logged in, go to your preferences, then select the account tab in your preferences.

In the "About You" section, you'll see an option at the top to change your username-- click that.

A box will pop up asking you to select a new username and enter your password to confirm it.

Notes: If you don't pay for the change, the new name will be reserved for 24 hours-- so you will have to try again 24 hours later. Also, if the username already exists, you can't have it. We only let you change your username once every 6 months because too many changes can be confusing.

Once you click buy, you can select your payment type and pay the $5 fee.

The username should change immediately, but do give it at least a few hours if it doesn't. Your posts and messages from before will still have your old username and your posts and messages sent after the change will have your new username attached to it. Your friends will also receive a quick message from Nexopia saying that you changed your username. Once you've changed over, your old username is will become available again.

Warning to trouble makers: We track everything, so changing your username won't give you a clean slate or allow you to hide.

We are sorry to see you leave Nexopia. Here is how you delete your account:

1. Click on "Preferences" in the top menu bar. You must be logged in to do this.

2. Click on the "Account" tab in your preferences, then scroll to the bottom of the page.

3. Enter your password and your reason for leaving (for feedback purposes) and click delete.

Your account is deleted instantly; however, all forum posts and article submissions made by you will remain on the site.

If you have forgotten your password, you may be able to recover your account.

1. When you're at the login page, click the forgot password button

2. Enter your email address then click "Reset Password". You must enter the email address your account is registered to--anything else won't work.

3. Check your email (and junk folders if it doesn't show up right away) and follow the instructions to recover your account.

Note: If you do not have access to the email address that your account is registered to, you're out of luck. You can report abuse on the old account to have it removed and create a new account.

A Picture Moderator (Pic Mod) is a volunteer who helps Nexopia in deciding which profile pictures are accepted or denied when they are uploaded.

If a user is good at Pic Modding they have the opportunity to earn Nexopia Plus and other prizes like t-shirts.

The Remember Me function allows you to avoid having to enter your username and password every time you want to log onto Nexopia.com.

It sets a Cookie on your computer that Nexopia reads whenever you come to the site. The Cookie identifies you as you so you do not need to enter your username and password.

Remember that unless you Logout by clicking the Logout link, anyone using that computer can then log into your account.

If you are using a Public (school, work, etc) or Shared (at home with family) computer, be very careful about using Remember Me as it could allow someone else access to your account.

The Spotlight (front page, centre) features random Plus users, and updates every minute. Click on the user's picture to go to their Profile.
