VIDEO: Thrice Talk About Recording "The Alchemy Index"
You know, looking back at some of the albums that defined the 2007 music landscape, there's one in particular that stands out as being somewhat of an adventurous endeavor. I'm speaking, of course, about Thrice's The Alchemy Index, a four part concept album that saw the California metalcore band move somewhat to the left of their usual sound in favor of experimenting with everything from electronica to ambient soundscapes. And while fans were skeptical, news spread like wildfire when Volumes 1&2 eventually showed that they might onto something exceptional.
The best part about the whole thing is they documented some of their recording processes through a series of 10 short video interviews. Below are four excerpts from the series.
