Who are Battles you ask? To make a long story short, Battles are cerebral rock renegades. A brainy American super group made up of master multimedialists determined to bring prog rock out of wood-paneled Norwegian basements and back into the hearts if 21st century indie kids everywhere. Are they succeeding? Well, besides their first single, "Atlas," being voted "Best Single of the Week" by NME Magazine, pretty much every cynical old music critic gave the band's first proper full length, Mirrored, glowing praise last year. Hell, Mojo Magazine even coined a new sub-genre to describe their sound: "future funk."

But even more importantly, Battles recently appeared on VBS.TV's popular "Practice Space" series which is the only actual litmus test for fame these days. Because if Vice cares so should you.
