"Violet Hill" is the first single from Coldplay's forthcoming album Viva la Vida and while the new video apes the same Civil War theme that fellow Brits Kasabian used to climb to the top of the charts last year, it also hints at a slightly heavier sound for the band (a response to the now famous quip from The 40 Year Old Virgin perhaps?)

The new album is set to drop on June 17th so stay tuned to hear more from these guys real soon.
