The story is that, when Metallica entered the studio to record their upcoming album Death Magnetic, producer Rick Rubin told them that Masters of Puppets was their best album and got them to pretend that they were under contractual agreement by the studio to produce a hit follow-up to the 80s metal classic. Hence the epic 8 minute, old-school metal of "The Day that Never Comes," a single that's gonna make Metallica fans extremely happy.
