kevlar?: First of all, does anyone in Stereos have a Nexopia account?
Stereos: No we don't anymore... Wait, Miles does. Add him up, it's Miles @ Nex.
kevlar?: Your sound is quite a bit happier than a lot of the popular stuff coming out this year. What do you want your fans and listeners to take from your music?
Stereos: We just want them to feel the songs, we want to effect people in a positive way. You know, just have a good time. Yeah, it's an important mix of Top 40 right now, which is a lot of partying songs which we love, and 50s and 60s songs which mainly are good time songs. It's all about having a good time. There are not a lot of people making the happiest summer time hits anymore; instead it's just a lot of depressing music coming out these days. We want to bring happy music back -- we're all about the positive sounds.
kevlar?: I heard you went on quite the tour from Edmonton all the way to Toronto recently to do a Much Music thing; how was that?
Stereos: Which time? ;) The first time we were all freaking out because we were going there for a TV show and it felt like we were on top of the world, especially when we won it.
kevlar?: And then you were signed by Gene Simmons, which is quite the career maker?
Stereos: No, we did not actually get signed by Gene Simmons that time. That happened later. We did the disBAND show then came back to Edmonton and went back to work and were working normal jobs. Then Gene heard our music through people at Universal and he liked what he heard.
kevlar?: What are you guys planning to do when you have some free time after all of these shows?
Stereos: Know what? I don't want any free time in the next ten years! I want to be the best, we want to be number one, that's our main goal. So that's what we'll be doing all the time!
kevlar?: Considering your little jump on iTunes, it seems you guys are getting pretty close to that goal.
Stereos: We faltered for a bit, but we are starting to getting back up there! Just a couple more months with us working hard and we hope we can knock it out of the park. I'm our worst critic and I think we have some songs that are better than others so I think it is going to get better and better.
kevlar?: I saw that you have responded to a lot of fans on YouTube and I really respect that -- do you make a goal of responding to fans online?
Stereos: We spend hours and hours on Myspace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter; and it is hard to keep in touch, but we love our fans and so we feel like we have to try and keep in touch.
kevlar?: How do you feel YouTube is affecting the music revolution?
Stereos: It is amazing -- people are using their YouTube accounts to message us and it can help the band. We have 580,000 views so obviously it can help a band a lot.
kevlar?: How about the tattoos; what influenced your tattoos?
Stereos: A lot of stuff I really like. It's kind of almost like a diary of your life. Everywhere I go I like to get something and it's another memory of some point in my life.
kevlar?: How would you describe your band in three words?
Stereos: So friggin' awesome.
