You Know Your Portuguese When....
1. If you can hold more then one beer in your hand, plus a shot of aniz in the other.
2. If you have a rooster napkin holder.
3. If you know and own all of jorge ferreira's or chico avila's albums.
4. Does anyone in your family make wine in the garage?
5. If your drunk by 8:00 am.
6. If your brother/father work contruction.
7. If the outside of your house is painted green, yellow, blue, red, or pink haha
8. If you decorate your walls with plates.
9. If you have crochet dollies anywhere in your house. literally, they r everywhere!
10. If you turned an old bath tub or tire into a planter for the front or back of your house hahahaha
11. If you have a room in your house where everybody is forbidden to go to or be in..
12. If you say the continent reffering to the main land Portugal.
13. If you talk with your hands while your on the phone or in general.
14. If you drink wine with EVERYTHING lol
15. If you have "tia maria" or "tio jose"...
16. If your father or grandfather is called Manuel, José, Antonio, or João.
17. You baptize your child and send him to catechism even though you might never go to church except for weddings and funerals.
18. You have a mobile phone and spend a small fortune on it, but think
twice about going to the dentist.
19. You park on the sidewalk when necessary, even telling the person standing there "Sai d'ai o rapaz!!."
20. Go to your freezer...see any fish? chances are there's bacalhau.
21. If you house has more plants in it than outside.
22. You think that you can catch a cold with a draft or by sitting in the spring sun. Cold drinks are also thought to bring on the dreadful "gripe". And don't let anyone have a shower after eating
as something terrible could happen to them.
23. If you stay up to 12:00am on xmas eve to open your gifts lol
24. You insist you wouldn't be caught dead buying Spanish olive oil even though most of the olive oil consumed in Portugal comes from Spain.

26. If your 25 and still living at home... (Extra points if you're married and living with your spouse in your parent's house)
27. You think that 2am is too early to go to bed and that 11am is to
early to get out of bed.
28. Going to Portugal involves buying gifts for all 500 members of your
family
29. A wooden spoon equals discipline, or if you ever had to duck so you
wouldn't get hit with flying shoes.
30. Your grandmother tells you look sick because you are too thin.
31. Your 15 year old brother is allowed to have two girls sleep over,
but your 19 year old sister can't go out past 7pm.
