Delta Heat Boily keeps pressure on

GUELPH -- It is hard to decide which is more remarkable: that the Delta Heat Boily are now two wins away from a national championship or that their coach hasn't yet been taken to the hospital.
The Heat, who have 12 first-year midget players on their roster, beat the Chinguacousy Cougars 4-3 yesterday in the first elimination-round game of the Canadian midget girls' fastball championship -- their fourth one-run victory of the tournament.
The win means that the youthful British Columbia team can finish no worse than third in the country. It also means that Delta can win the national title with wins at 6:30 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. tomorrow instead of two wins each day.
In other words, said coach Roger Boily, "It means that my heart can stay in its place."
After the Chinguacousy game, Boily shook his head, grabbed his chest, and laughed heartily at his players' penchant for the dramatic.
