A Langley teen was killed early Saturday when his small pickup truck hit a utility pole on 200 Street.
The 17-year-old male was driving along 200 Street in the 4500 block at approximately 1:40 a.m., when the vehicle he was driving broadsided a utility pole on the east side of the road.
The Mazda pickup mounted the sidewalk and struck the utility pole broadside on the driver’s side.
An 18-year-old passenger in the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and later released.
Speed, alcohol, and road conditions are believed to be factors in the collision. A mechanical inspection of the vehicle will be completed. B.C. Coroner' Service s will complete an autopsy on the driver. BC Hydro attended the collision location and righted the pole.
