TO THEM ALL

"Our lives are gongers, don't try and change us. We are dirty proud
men who stick by our boys first. We will do nasty shit
just to tell the story in the room. That is our lives. We are kings to
men, and God's to you."

Here's to...
the stars in the show and the guys going to the show
the boys in the juniors living the dream
and the die hards lighting up the beer leagues.

Here's to...
the snipers, the playmakers, the grinders, the fighters
the power forwards, the blue chip d-men, the bottle fillers
the men in the pipes, the men on the bench, and the boys in the box.

Here's to...
sniping ginos, chizzling apples, throwing sauce, undressing tendies
banging home rebounds, making big glove saves, and burying OT winners.
dirty dangles, sick toe drags, backhand toe drags, spin-o-ramas,
bar and ins, top cheese, One-Tees, snappers and clappers, big-time celly's,
poke-checks, pad-stacks, big hits and hip-checks, train tracks,
and toe-to-toe tillies

Here's to...
long bus trips, the early morning practices, the bag-skates,
the battles in the corners, the bad dental, the sweet flow,
the playoff beards, the tears, the laughs, the team shakers,
the beauties wheeling hot broads, and the gongers wheeling swampers.

Here's to...
the wins, losses, and ties, the end-to-end overtimes,
the gruelling training camps, the pre-season exies,
the regular season battles, the playoff wars, and raising cup.

And...

Here's to anyone who knows what all this means...

THE LOCKER ROOM

Hockey locker rooms are one of a kind. Not like any other sports locker room, hockey locker rooms are where a family of 23 guys can spend the best of their times. The stories, lacin up the skates, tapin the lumber, packin bombs, chirpin rooks, the showers, and countless experinces all take place in your teams home; The Hockey Locker Room

Hockey player. What is a hockey player? Being a hockey player is tradition, love, determination, dedication, sacrifice. Hockey player is who I am, what I’ve become. People outside of the hockey circle can’t understand what it means to be a hockey player.

Tradition. Hockey is full of traditions. When you get to the rink it is hard to hold yourself together you are so excited. When you find your lucky spot in the locker room everyone gets changed into their running suit. Everyone is in the same hockey sweatpants and hoodie. The hoodie symbolizes what you are fighting for.Taping your stick the same way before every game. Listening to the same song right before you hit the ice. Hanging out with your line mates before every game. The line meetings in the disgusting bathroom before every game. Before the coach comes in the captains and the vets getting everyone pumped and ready to go. The team prays before we exit the locker room as we are tightly huddled and prepared for battle. When you run throught the tunnel of fans, and hit the ice you hear the arena music pumping. You are feeling great and think life cannot get any better than this. The truth is, it can’t. Cherish being a hockey player while you can. Although your hockey career has to end sometime, the hockey player in you will stay forever.
