If information is passed along to you in the sense that a human in the nature of a female has affectionate feelings towards you, but unfortunately you do not feel the same way.

WHAT TO DO:
-Tell the truth

WHAT NOT TO DO:
-Lie
-Try to make yourself look like the "good guy"

In this situation, tell the poor girl the truth, you owe her that for her being honest with you and her feelings. Just be blunt, honest, and straight to the point. DO NOT beat around the bush. Doing this makes the girl think to herself, "Well he did apologize and was a really nice guy about the whole thing.". THIS makes it SOOOO much harder for the girl to get over you. Torturing her and making her overthink the entire situation.
ALSO,
by lieing to her it gives her false hopes and making her think that there are some good things to come in the future and theres hope. If you do not want to date a girl, tell her this. Otherwise you are just torturing the poor dear.
