PARTY AT OKANAGAN BEACH SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE PEACH 8PM B.Y.OB
Two young men in their 20s are dead, following a single vehicle incident early Saturday morning near the Grave Lake recreation site.
It's halfway between Sparwood and Elkford.
A pick-up left a bridge deck, ending up on its roof next to a creek in the bottom of a gully. The driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at the scene: 23-year-old Erickson resident Gregory McLeod and 21-year-old Sparwood resident Bryce Powell.
The third young man was able to summon help.
He's in stable condition in Calgary hospital.
It was raining that night, and roads were muddy and wet.
Police believe alcohol and speed were factors in the incident, which they're investigating with the BC Coroners' Service.
R.I.P Bryce You will Be missed by many and remembered greatly by me by "The Famous Wall" hahahaha , writing on my wall , and also how funny you were you always made me laugh and smile:) and not alot of people do that . Get up and go on with your life. It's alright, sit around. Be depressed for a minute. Cry about it, do whatever you have to. But don't stay like that too long. Get up and go on with your life! But by then, it's going to be too late. Cause you'll be sitting around crying and worrying about, 2-3 years from now, you ain't going to even remember their last name. How many times you'd see folks somewhere and you'd be like, "What the hell was I thinking?" If I'd been there, I'd been like, "What was wrong with me? What was I going through? I must have been lonely as hell to hook up with you!" Let folks go hun! Some people come in your life for a lifetime, some come for a season. You've got to know which is which. And your always going to mess up when you the seasonal people up with the lifetime expectations. You can't...They got people that've gotten married with people that were only suppose to be with for a season and they wonder why they have so much hell in their lives. That was a person that was suppose to come and teach you one thing, you didn't know so you went and just fell in love and now you wonder why you ain't got no peace anywhere you go. No... no... listen I put everyone that comes into my life in a category of a tree. Some people are like leaves on a tree. The wind blows, their over here. Their unstable. They blow the other way, their over here! Seasons change they wither and die. Their gone. It's alright, most people in the world are like that. They are just there to take from the tree. They ain't there to do nothing but take and give shade every now and then, that's all they can do! But don't get mad at the people like that. That's who they are. They ain't ever going to be nothing. That's why they put on what they be. They be what they are a leaf. Some people are like a branch on a tree. You gotta be careful with the branches too. They'll fool you. They'll make you think their a good friend and their strong. But the minute you step out there on them, they'll break and leave you high and dry. But if you find your 2 or 3 people in your life, their like the roots at the bottom of that tree. You are blessed cause their the kind of people that are going no where. They ain't worried about being seen, no body has to know they know you, they ain't got to know what their doing for you but if the roots weren't there the tree couldn't live, understand? A tree could have a hundred million branches, but only have a few good roots down at the bottom to make sure it gets everything it needs. When you get roots, hold on to them. But the rest of them... let them go. Let folks go. It ain't always easy and nobody said it was going to be easy. It'll get easy when you learn to love yourself. When you get to a point in your life when you look at people and you go, "Ok, wait a minute. Your or me?" You will make a decision. When you tell folks something say, "Look! This thing going on right here,.. that's going to cause a problem. You need to fix that. If were going to be friends, you gotta fix that. And if you don't were going to have an issue." If you see someone fix it or they are even trying to fix it, that's someone who cares, you wanna keep people around. That's a leaf trying to grow into something better. If you tell something what their doing is bugging you, and they keep doing it, they don't care. Move on. Let them go. No matter how much it hurts. Let them go. It'll get easy. Every day it'll get easier and easier. You just got to make it through. You gotta learn to be by yourself. If you don't know how to be yourself, what are you going to do with someone else? Stop praying about it and wait. Go work on you. That's what that time is, for you. To get yourself together. I'd rather be by myself in a corner with a dog and be happy then to be sitting around with someone in my house and wondering what the hell their there for. You'd be surprised what people put up with just to hear someone say they love them. I can't live in dysfunction, I'm sorry. I've been through too much hell to come in and let you come up in my life and suppose to be in peace and let you cause me hell. There's only 2 places you go to have peace. The grave and your house. If you can't have peace in your house and you got no peace... something is wrong. Think about it.
