current "to do" : see the world
Well, i'v just returned from spending three months in south africa, which was unreal! Kels and i spent almost the first two months backpacking up the east coast, met people from all over the world staying in backpackers, which were either great, or filled with cockroaches haha. We did the whole tourist thing, and saw the sites, as well as got shown the more down to earth areas by locals. We drank until our livers nearly gave out, and truely took advantage of the fact that we were legal there..and danced more than we ever had in our lives. We learned some afrikaans songs, and a bit of the language, as well as attempting a few others! (unsuccesfully)! We spent our fare share of days at the beach, enjoying the powdery white sand and the heat, and not enjoying the rediculously salty water as much. When we got back to CapeTown with a month to spare on our trip, we spent the remainer of our trip as live in's at an all boys bording school...the most prestigious all boys bording school in all of Africa! Along our trip, we met Steff, a boy from Wales who is staying in CapeTown for a year, working at the bording school, and playing rugby for the university, and who is now my unbelievable boyfriend! We spent the rest of the trip hanging out with Steff and the other 4 guys that worked at the bording school, (one from australia, one from england, and 2 south african's). We went shopping, clubbing, swimming, bowling, to museums, shakespearian plays, dinner parties, rugby matches and movies..the whole month was a blur of outtings and adventures. The most rediculous outting, being climbing table mountain, MY stupid idea in the first place. Kels and Steff loved it, being the athletes that they are... it nearly sent me to my grave. We also spent some time working with kids and babies at a shelter in CapeTown, and loved that. I'v never enjoyed work so much, and been so satisfied at the end of the day. We've both changed and grown, and managed to survive Africa! We spent three months ajoined at the hip, and didnt have one fight. We made it through kels..and theres no one i would have rather done it with!! i LOVE you...and? ...we...are...CANADIAN!!! <3
