A poem dedicated to Connos
The sun was shining bright
On this warm spring day.
Everyone was smiling
And going their own way.
No one knew about the news,
They didn't have a clue.
They all went to their classes
They had school work to do.
As we all sat down,
In the seats that were assigned.
The teachers tried to tell us all
They all seemed very kind.
As our teacher read it out,
The paper in his hand.
His voice cracked with hidden pain.
A pain he couldn't stand.
A girl in front of me cried aloud
While running to the door.
Others just sat there
While staring at the floor.
Me, I didn't realize
That this Connor was my own.
I sat there thinking to myself,
There's a Connor that I know.
As I walked outside my class
I saw my friend standing there.
Tears streaming down her face,
Her friends all showing care.
I walked over and gave her a hug.
I thought she'd stop crying soon.
She told me it was Connor Toth.
Connor with the broken spoon.
Then it hit me strong and hard
This Connor that I knew.
I was never to see him again
My face began to turn blue.
My legs began to shake
And my hands felt really cold.
It hit me like a ton of bricks
This Connor wasn't old.
He still had life ahead.
A future still in store.
His highschool years not over yet.
He was meant for more.
So many people loved him.
So many that he'd known.
We all felt the sting of death.
This Connor was our own.
He was now gone forever,
But forever in our hearts.
He'll stay within all of us.
From us, he'll never part.
This is not the end of him
Though it may seeme to be.
His body is now gone from us,
But with us, his memory.
We'll never forget his smiling face.
The one that brightened our day.
He was always very happy
And that helped us on our way.
So good bye friend. We'll all miss you.
You seem very far.
We'll never forget your shining face,
Hope you're happy where you are.
Rest in peace
Connor Toth
