WASHINGTON, June 11 - "The controversial career of Mike Tyson reached another low Saturday night when he quit on his stool after the sixth round and lost to the journeyman heavyweight Kevin McBride." - Clifton Brown, New York Times
One of the greatest boxers of all time, Mike Tyson, dissapointed and shocked millions on saturday as he quit in the middle of his fight with Kevin McBride. The extremely controversial fighter Mike Tyson was coming into the fight with a 50-5 record and had lost 2 of his last 3 matches to practically unknown fighter Danny Williams and boxing great Lennox Lewis. Before this match, Tyson had never lost back to back matches and has never before been in such bad shape.
Tyson's enrance was reminiscent of his glory days as he came in with a black t-shirt on and without any entrance music. Tyson has never sunk to such a low as he did in this match. His trademark quickness and power have left him and have been replaces with a slow sloppy fighting style.
