YOU KNOW YOU ARE AT A ZABAVA WHEN:
~People wait in anticipation for the sound of Kolomayka music! (followed by a frantic rush to the dance floor)

~The food is actually made by babas in the kitchen, and tastes just like home.

~Champagne.. what is champagne? You mean rum and coke? or rye and coke?
~ You show up at dance practice the next day with the same hair, make up and dress that you wore the night before.
~You can name over 50% of the crowd because you have met them at church/ dancing/ Ukrainian classes at school.
~ Your legs are polka-ed out and you can't feel them, but who cares!
~ Wine is a 'weapon of choice' for some people
~DAI BOHZHE is said by everyone at LEAST 5 times over the course of the evening
~ 10 people to a table? More like 15 sitting shoulder to shoulder
~Everyone knows the words to 'Hey Zabava' 'Yarema' and 'Viter Vie'
~There is not a poorly dressed person in sight!
~There may be non-Ukrainians in attendance but you cant tell, the real Ukrainians have converted them.
~An accordian is not an uncommon instrument in the band
~You can ask anyone to polka and the response is NEVER 'im sorry I don't know how!'
~The dance floor is NEVER empty
~The average age of the people there drop
