ABOUT ME

Let's see...
I'm told I'm really smart
I live on campus at the U of A, taking Electrical Engineering
Umm... I don't own a camera and never take pictures, so all the pics I have are old, if for some reason you want something new, go talk to Meg I'm sure she one or two lying around
I was born in Medicine Hat, but I've lived (in chronological order) Redcliff, estevan, Red Deer, Odessa (Tx), Calgary, Grande Prairie, Sherwood Park, and now Campus.
I've been around Edmonton since... 1996? Seems like a long time but in my defence there's been umm... six houses involved

p.s. Sherwood Park has about 70,000 people of which like 10 are black. seriously. We saw one the other day and it was like We have black people? When did that happen?

I can be really quiet, but it's mostly because everyone else talks too much. (that's right it's everyone's fault but mine). Seriously though, I try to shut up unless I have something to contribute, mostly I just listen (or space out - ask Ryan).

I've been dating Megan (razzberryice) since the start of December 04, she is completely wonderful, and never fails to make me smile

I read voraciously, I try for at least a novel a week, but mostly it comes in clusters, four books in a weekend and then nothing for two weeks. I can laugh out loud to a book, or completely lose myself, and wake up like 300 pages and two hours later wondering where the hell and why I'm not wearing socks.

I'm love reading about ideas, my book collection holds as much Plato and Decartes as it does King and Cook. I'm also an amateur physics buff, and get addicted to religious stuff, from Matreiya to Thich Nhat Han, but I mostly browse the stuff until I find something that really catches my intrest. Thing to read if you get the chance:
1.)Scott Bakker
2.) Orson Scott Card

I have broad musical tastes too, from acoustical guitar to Beethoven to J-pop to The Used all on Cd.

Despite the best efforts of a bunch of people, I can't manage to care about decorum. If I want to sit on the ground, walk quickly or hop a bit I will damn it. Life too short for crap like that.

I like mountains, and being high in general (not that way damn it), I love to climb, trees ropes mountain anything. If I could have one superpower it would be flight.

DISLIKES

well... this list should be fairly short...
Those people who debate by telling you to think harder, or dig deeper without making a point. Heads Up for you people you look like sanctimonious pricks.
Safety Nazi's - The fall of the berlin wall happened less than two decades ago. It was one of the most powerful political statements, hell one of my top two symbols of goodness in humanity, and today the whole process would be shut down due to safety concerns.
As a corollary people who are afraid of everything... Like West Nile virus. I mean better safe than sorry, but last year 1 case was reported. Even in it's peak year 2003, only 235 cases. That's not even deaths. More people dies from the flu! Just chillax a bit K?
