What do i say to you? you are simultainously the greatest source of pain my life has, and yet at the same time, what would i be without you?

You've changed, much from when i first met you 5 years ago. Infact, where I to go to back and converse with you, as i am now, im not sure id recognize you. Im not sure id want to know you. I would most likely consider you a weak willed fool, allowing other's emotions to govern your life, allowing the rules of your educational institution to command you, and failing to see what is right in front of you. Im pretty sure though, you wouldnt recognize me. You would most likely see me as an apathetic escapist, uncaring for the world around him, and a "man" that uses the crutches of drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and sex to numb the pain inside, and someone not willing to come to grips with reality.

But regardless of who we are then, we are what we are now. The fact of the matter is, I need you, and you need me. We are one in the same. And though I may loathe and hate you more then anyone, im willing to put aside our differences to solve the problem of the future. the thing is, are you?

one thing that shocks me about this city, is despite the "welcome to all" image it projects, calgary has an amazing level of hostility towards visible subcultures.

Just a couple weeks ago, a group of skater kids took it upon themselves to clean up muleniem skate park, and were all ticketed by bylaw, because they didnt have a permit!.

i myself was a victem of persecution, in 2006, the day after virginia tech (i wasnt aware of the event until the next day), i wore a slayer tshirt to school. i was hauled into the office, searched, questioned and suspened, simply for my tshirt and the reputation i had for both my past and being outspoken.

and apperently, this is common in the city, based on all the people i have talked to recently.

So, both for my disire to be a filmmaker, and to highlight this problem, im taking it upon myself to film a documentary, shown from both the angle of the people who are persecuted, and city officials who make the laws. the four main groups ill be showing are Punks, Metalheads, Skinheads, and Juggalos.
