Well, let's see. As far as hobbies, well, I have quite a few things that I enjoy to enhance my day, or waste it, depending on your point of view ~_^. I like video games. Not as much as I used to, granted, but there is still a large number of games that I still greatly enjoy. the Legend of Zelda series, for example, or the Final Fantasy series. Oh, and also, it's practically a guarentee that I'll enjoy any game if it's rhythm- and music-based. Yes, I'm a DDR fanboy, so sue me. I don't follow the crowd, I started playing it before it became the fad it is right now. Another hobby that I enjoy, is tinkering around with my keyboard (the musical kind). No, I'm not the best in the world, but it's fun all the same. I'm also a Trading Card Game geek. I play Magic: the Gathering as often as I can, and I also know how to play Anachronism, Digimon, Pokemon, Lord of the Rings, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and a little bit of Legend of the 5 Rings. I also own Spongebob Squarepants cards. I don't know how to play that, though.
I also greatly enjoy drawing and painting, and I have even dabbled in sculpting. I had gone to college this past year, taking a course in art. It didn't go too well, though. I also enjoy reading and writing a great deal, although I don't seem to find myself doing either of these all too often, which is quite a shame. I'm even working on a short novel... although "short" could be debateable... I don't know how long it's going to, really.
I'm very open-minded. All you have to do is meet the group of friends that I have to see that to be true. I also consider myself relatively down-to-earth. I also value friendship a great deal. I'm very easy-going, and you'll pretty much never really see me in a bad mood... and if you do, it usually lasts about 10 minutes, and then I'm smiling again. I can be somewhat protective of my friends sometimes, even though I won't always show it. I just hate seeing them in pain. Granted... who does?
One of the main things that I cannot stand, is people who jump to conclusions before have any concrete facts. Mainly becuase, when people do this, they tend to jump to most negative conclusion that they can think of, which pretty much pisses me off... I would hope that people are more optimistic than cynical... It's amazing how often I'm proven wrong.
Also, I'm a furry, my fursona being a wolf/otter hybrid. As to how he came into being, well... to be honest, it's sort of a mix of things. He originally started out as a purely-wolf species, just an RP (Role-Playing) character for online RPs, or AD&D campaigns. Granted, back then, he had the name of "Dimitri". I eventually discovered the furry fandom sometime when I was 12 years old. I began reading webcomics (a world that was introduced to me by my brother), and found Dakota's Ridge, an awesomely well-done webcomic about wolves in a nature reserve. I had joined the message board there, and at about the same time, had joined the message board on werenation. The latter of the two didn't last long... the members there were... well... mean, to put it simply. They just weren't the kind of people I saw myself associating with. Well, I stayed on the Dakota's Ridge forum, and from there, learned a bit about the furry community, and found a link to the furry.ca site/forum. I got a membership on the forum, and met some really cool people online.
I guess that, from that point on, my fursona began becomming an extension of myself. Fireheart became more than just an alter ego, or someone that I could switch on and off, like the Caped Avenger from Garfield. I found that he began have my faults and characteristics... and pretty much becoming my "other half", so to speak.
Now, just recently, I've decided that the purely "wolven" aspect of him doesn't suit me anymore, hence the change to a half-wolf, half-otter hybrid. I just enjoy the water too much to not include that in his species as well. *chuckles*
Okay, so at this point, if you're still reading this, you might be wondering what the hell I'm going on about with regards to "furry". To boil it down, furries are art fans, mainly centered around art of an anthropomorphic nature (i.e. humans with animal features, or vice-versa). The main difference between furries and any other cartoon fan, though, is that furries tend to have a character, or fursona, that they use to represent themselves when dealing with other furs, or when on a message board or whatnot. So yeah... no, I don't molest dogs, and no, I don't fantasize about doing it, either. I just happen to enjoy anthropomorphic art, is all.
Now, on a final note, I'd just like to leave you all with some food for thought:
Don't burden yourself with negative feeling and memories... in the end, you'll just remember the good stuff anyway, and that's what matters.
