    ABOUT ME

Three little birds sat on my window and they told me I don't need to worry
Summer came like cinnamon. So sweet.
Little girls double dutch on the concrete.
    Maybe sometimes,
we've got it wrong but it's alright, the more things seem to change,
the more they stay the same.
    ooo, don't you hesitate.
    Girl put your records on
    tell me your favourite song
you go ahead let your hair down.
    Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams.
Just go ahead let your hair down.
Your going to find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Blue sky, sunburnt and lonely, sipping tea in a bar by the roadside...
    Just relax, Just relax.
Don't let those other boys fool you.
Got to love that afro hair doo.
Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid but its alright.
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
    Don't you think it's strange?
Girl put your records on, tell me your favourite songs.
You go ahead let your hair down.
    Sapphire and fadded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams.
Just go ahead let your hair down.
Your going to find yourself somewhere, somehow.
Twas more than I could take.
    pity for pity's sake.
    Some nights kept me awake.
I thought that I was stronger.
When do you realise that you don't even have to try any longer?
    Do what you want to.
    Girl put your records on
    tell me your favourite song
you go ahead let your hair down.
    Sapphire and faded jeans,
I hope you get your dreams.
Just go ahead let your hair down.
Your going to find yourself somewhere, somehow.

    Sean Paul

I remember when getting high meant swinging at the
playground, the worst thing that you could get from the opposite
sex was cooties, your mom was who you wanted to be, your
worst enemies were your teachers or your siblings, race issues
was who ran the fastest, war was a card game, the only drugs
you knew was cough medicine & a girl that wore a skirt didn’t
have to be a slut, the only thing that you smoked were the tires
on your bike, the only thing that hurt was skinned knees & the
only thing that could get broken were your toys. Life was simple
& care free, but what I remember the most was wanting to grow up

This poem is about my best friend. Though we are far apart for now, she will always be the most important person in my life. She was always there for me, there to encourage me, there to comfort me. She was my biggest supporter in both the good and the bad. She helped me find self-acceptance and she showed me how wonderful loving others unconditionally is.

We were at primary school together until December 19th 2005. Sadly we don't live close by each other (she's in Australia Iam In Canada) so I haven't seen her in a long time. I cherish my memories of her so much. I will never give up hope that our paths are destined to cross again. She was the sweetest part of my life for so long, I miss her positive outlook on life, her ready smile and most of all the way she genuinely cared about me. She will always have a special place in my heart.
