Hotmail Issues
Hi everyone,

Due to reasons beyond our control, Hotmail is blocking most emails from Nexopia. If you have an email address that ends in @live, @hotmail or @msn THIS AFFECTS YOU.

How does it affect you?

It means you won’t get:
  • account activations/password change emails
  • messages forwarded to email
  • invitations/updates
  • answers from staff (if you emailed us)

Here’s what we can tell you:
  • If you know someone that is having trouble signing up, tell them that using a different email provider (like Yahoo or Gmail) should help them get their activation emails.
  • We know there are people who spam on Nexopia. We hate them too. To report them, use the report abuse button on their profile. That’ll show us where the problem is so we can eliminate them. If you click the “report as spam” button when you’re looking at emails, that doesn’t fix the problem at all.
  • If you don’t want to get your Nexopia messages/updates sent to your email address, click preferences, then under the general tab, find the private messaging section. Uncheck “forward private messages to email” and “forward site messages to email”, click update preferences and presto—no more emails from Nexopia.
  • If you have questions that you’ve emailed us, try emailing from a non-Hotmail address, or just contact NexopiaHelp for now.

We hope to have things back to normal very soon. If you have any more questions, feel free to post them as a comment and we'll answer them as fast as we can.

A Day to Remember has been well-known for their metalcore musical style which usually leads into pop punk (usually in the choruses of most songs). Fans have described this blend as "pop-mosh" or "popcore". It seems to have worked out in their favour, as the band was nominated "Best International Newcomer" in 2008.

To find out how you can get a chance to win a pair of tickets to see them live in concert, check out the A Day to Remember contest page.

Never Shout Never is Christofer Drew, an 18-year-old singer-songwriter and guitarist from Joplin, Missouri. In 2008, Drew began writing and recordings songs in his basement and self-released an EP that has sold more than 30,000 copies and hundreds of thousands of individual tracks. Never Shout Never quickly built a grassroots following via the internet. What Is Love?, his first full length album, includes 8 tracks plus a download code for 2 bonus live tracks and is produced by Butch Walker.

With an album title that poses a question so deep, we couldn't help but ask you: What is love?

You gave us your answers, and the winner with our favorite response won the grand prize that included a trip for 2 to Toronto to see Never Shout Never in concert; airfare, hotel, and spending money; the chance the meet the band at the concert; and a copy of What Is Love? 10 runners up also each won a copy of What Is Love? and 6 months of Nexopia Plus. What's your talent? Whether you sing, dance, draw, write, whatever – we wanted to see it! Your challenge was to take whatever you're good at, and show us why you should be the one to go to see Billy Talent. Are you musically inclined? We wanted to see a video of you covering a Billy Talent song! More visually artistic? Create a piece of fan art that would be worthy of an album cover or poster! Are you good at writing? We asked to hear a song, poem, or bio about the band! We were open to anything, and creativity was definitely rewarded!

Winners walked away with a pair of tickets to see Billy Talent live in concert! Click HERE to see the winners.

Two new features this week:

  • Submit articles from your blog!
We've made it easier to write and submit articles by incorporating them right into your blog as a new type of blog post. You can now also include a photo and caption with your article, as well browse other recent articles on the Top Blogs page to rate and comment on. Popular articles will be handpicked to be displayed on the Nex homepage.

  • Profile game block!
You can now add your favorite game as a block on your profile -- just click the "Add to My Profile" link beside the game or search for a specific one to display. Check the new block out when you edit your profile.

Billy Talent singer Ben Kowalewicz is betraying neither cockiness nor complacency as he candidly assesses what might await the group in the summer of 2009. "People are always saying: ‘You sound so different from record to live,’" says Kowalewicz. "So one thing that we really wanted to do was amalgamate both, so that it sounds really big and heavy but there's still this feeling that's really visceral and alive." Mission accomplished – Billy Talent has never sounded more visceral or alive than it does here, and alongside the likes of Alexisonfire, Against Me and Cancer Bats, this will be a tour that you don’t want to miss.

For more info on how to win a free pair of Billy Talent tickets, check out the contest page.

Updated profile features!
We recently asked what your ideal profile would look like and got some great feedback from the Nexopia community. Most liked how they were, but suggested some improvements. When designing these features our goal was to change as little as possible, only adding features and flexibility, giving you more control over your profile.

Here's some of the stuff we've added:

  • Easier and faster to edit your profile
  • New profile layouts -- including a single column layout
  • All blocks are movable and removable (except your profile pictures and username block)
  • Friends list loads 10 times faster on your profile
  • Multiple friends list styles to choose from...
    • Different layouts
    • Select the number of friends to display
    • Or... completely remove it!

So hop over to your profile and give the new updates a try. We want to know what you think!
