NEXOPIA STAFF AND PLUS

Things you need to read first:

  1. Is Nexopia shutting down?
No, Nexopia is not shutting down. Nexopia operates off advertising revenue and Plus sales, and because our community is strong, we have stayed very profitable. Nexopia users are way more loyal, die hard, and expressive people than typically found on other social networks. As a result, Nexopia as a community and a business is still thriving.

  2. Can I get free Plus?
No, you may not. Please do not ask us for free Plus, you will not get it.

  3. Can I report abuse here?
No, please do not report abuse here. If you have an abuse related situation, please click here.

  4. What's going on with all these bugs?
The challenge of running a site like this is that it takes an incredible amount of resources to have everything running smoothly. Think about the process involved with even storing and displaying your gallery pictures-- seems easy, until you throw in moderation, an interface to display them, privacy settings, and a couple million people using it all at once. When we find bugs, we push as hard as we can to get them fixed.

Staff, Mods, and Volunteers:

Who are Nexopia staff?

We have several people who work or volunteer for Nexopia. These people range from Administrators and Programmers to Picture Moderators. You can tell if somebody works for Nexopia by the tag that is placed on the top left corner of their profile.

If you have any questions, please ask this page!

What do these people do?

  • Administrators: Administrators are the highest level moderators on Nexopia. They deal with abuse and forums, as well as moderators and the public. They can edit your profile, ban or globally ban you from forums, and even delete or freeze your account.

  • Plus Mods: Plus Mods deal specifically with activating Nexopia Plus when purchased. They are also the ones who can transfer your Plus if you decide you want a new account. These are the people to thank for receiving your Plus! No, they cannot give you free Plus.

  • Nexopia Staff: These people work at the Nexopia office. They are our IT experts, developers, designers, sales, and marketing experts and administration that have made the site what it is.

Who are our volunteers?

  • Global Mods: Global Mods have mod powers in all forums on the site. They help keep the forums running smoothly and they ban those who break the rules. Global mods are also able to globally ban you from all forums so make sure you're abiding by the rules.

  • Forum Mods: Forum Mods are moderators for a specific official forum. They are experts at the forum they have powers in. They are in charge of keeping the peace in the forums and banning those who break the forums rules.

  • Pic Mods: Pic Mods moderate the profile pictures being uploaded onto our profiles.

How can I help?

If you are interested in becoming a Pic Mod, please message Chris(foxpilot). All other moderators are selected by Administrators. If we want you to be a mod, we will contact you.

Nexopia Plus:

How do I buy Nexopia Plus?

Go to the Plus page and select your payment method. Follow the instructions and enjoy your plus!

How do I use Plus?

Refer to our Plus User Guide for more information on how to use Nexopia Plus.

How do I transfer Plus?

We can move your Plus to your new account but we had to stop allowing people to move Plus to friends. We can only transfer all of the Plus or none and we deduct a one week (7 days) service charge. The move cannot be undone. If you still decide that you would like to transfer your Plus please be prepared to let us know when you are ready and what username you want it to go to. You must send this message from the account that has the Plus and you must be sending the message from your home computer. We reserve the right to refuse this service.

All Plus transfer requests must be messaged to NexopiaPlus.

Other Common Questions:

  • Why don't my recent visitors show?
Sometimes it takes a little while for all the features to start working. If you log out and then back in it should fix the problem.

  • Can I get free Plus?
No you may not. We do not give out free Plus to users. The only time we give out free Plus is at the occasional sponsored event, and when we do so it is usually a surprise.

PROFILES AND PICTURES

Profiles:

The following information covers the basic things you need to know in order to make a profile. If you would like further information, please refer to the Profile User Guide.

What's Profile BBCode?

BBCode are the tags you use to do things in your profile such as changing font colours, making font bigger, changing the font, etc.

For a simple list of all the tags you can use, please click this link, and then click on the "All about Profile/Forum Code" link.

I've seen some cool fading fonts, where can I find those?

If you go to this site, you can generate the code for fading text.

How do I put a picture in the body of my profile?

  1. In order to post a picture onto your profile you must first have the image you want saved to your computer.

  2. Next, you need to have an image hosting account. If you do not have one, Photobucket is a great choice. If you have Nexopia Plus you do not need to have an account, you can simply use your Files.

  3. Upload the desired picture to your image hosting account.

  4. Copy the url of the image.

  5. You can also choose whether or not you want your image to be aligned left, center, or right by using BBCode tags (which are explained above.)

Pictures and Galleries:

For further information on pictures and galleries, please refer to the Gallery User Guide.

How do I upload a picture?

Other Common Questions:

  • Why was my picture denied?
There are several reasons why a picture would be denied. All of these reasons have to do with our picture moderation rules. If your picture doesn't abide by these rules, it was denied. If you believe that your picture follows the rules but still was denied, please feel free to upload your picture again.

  • Are profile pictures post modded?
Yes, they are. This means your pic goes up, and later our moderators will accept or deny it. If it's voted accept, the picture stays up. If it's voted deny, your picture is removed.

  • Why isn't my sign pic verified yet?
When you upload a sign picture it is moderated twice. First it is moderated for content, then it is moderated to make sure that the picture falls into our sign picture specifications. Once your picture has been uploaded to your profile, it can take additional time for it to become verified.

  • Why was my sign pic not verified?
If your sign picture was denied, it could be for one of several reasons. If you click here, and then click on the "What are Sign Pictures and how do I become Verified?" link, it tells you what you need to be verified. Sometimes pictures are denied because people don't hold signs so that they are clearly visible, or the picture quality is so poor we cannot read it. Please make sure that when you submit a sign picture that it is legible and clear. Also, please make sure that the sign does not cover your face.

  • I had a picture up on my profile and it is no longer there. What happened?
Sometimes pictures that shouldn't be accepted get through . When this happens we are going through and take the inappropriate picture down. Chances are if one or more of your pictures have disappeared, we have taken them down.

FORUMS

How do I use the forums?

Other Common Questions:

  • What is the difference between the Official and User forums?
Official Forums are forums where the rules are enforced by Nexopia. User forums are those created by Plus members. In user forums, people can be banned for any reason that the moderators feel, due to it being a bit more of a private community.

  • I feel that I've been unfairly banned. How do I dispute a ban from an Official Forum?
To dispute a ban from an Official Forum, please reply to the ban message and state your case.

  • I have a complaint against an Official Forum mod. Who do I speak to?
If you have any complaints about moderators in Official Forums, please feel free to message foxpilot.

  • My signature was removed, why?
Nexopia moderators remove signatures when they do not abide by the following guidelines:

    • No nudity.
    • No graphic pictures/videos or links to them.
    • No racist or discriminatory content.
    • The dimensions must be within 600x200 pixels.
    • The total file size must be less than 200KB.
