ABOUT ME

About me huh?? This is not such the easiest thing in the world to ask. Presently, I am finished my BA in Ancient History at the UofC, the plan is to go overseas, preferrably England, for my masters and PhD. But presently it looks like I am going to end up staying here and altering my desired topic for my masters dissertation. Special interested with my studies are political and military history of the Greco-Roman world. Most of my studies so far have been focussed around Alexander the Great and his successors. Yes, I know the movie sucked ass, so its loudly stated the only two parts worth watching amount to 10 minutes of film, they are: the begginning scene with his horse Bucephelaus, that was taken word for word from Plutarch. And the second part was the battle scene at Gualgamela, some how with all the major historical problems they had with the rest of the movie, specifically how poorly done the battle at the Indus was, this battle scene was captured perfectly and justified me sitting the 3 hours through the movie.

The next major thing about myself is my sports, I play Basketball! Period end of story, yes I am only 5'2 but I still play with the boyz, why because last time i played with girls I ended up with surgery on my shoulder recently, still recovering, myself to a point where I could get back in a gym and work out for more than 30 minutes and not leave in tears. It was a step short of hell for a gym rat like myself to deal with, which is probably why i started clinging so seriously to my studies, I am not invincible In fact I am fragile and mortal, for the time being. I do play other sports with groups of friends and such but Basketball is my drug, yes drug, and I am andhave been addicted for years.

Next love is for my music and culture that follows, I am a soul baby. Give me the good B&G tracks by the classic soul artists and I will sit and listen to them for hours on end. I must admit i do listen to other forms of hiphop, jazz, blues, and reggae but at heart all i need is my soul. Piano melody with amazing vocals and thats what makes the world spin.

Current favorite track: Phat Black and Candace- "Bring it boy"

I guess the last thing that needs to be said is that I am a tragic romantic, I believe that there is one special man out there waiting for me somewhere
and if I am patient I will find him and live happily ever after. Until then I am prefectly alright with being independent and strong, contently waiting to be swept off my feet, fairytale style. Although sometimes to find the right one you have to go through a few wrong ones it helps youe determine what you really want instead of basing everything off of concept.

LIKES

Sitting by the fireside on a cold snowy day with a good book
Hot chocolate and Candy canes
Good workout so my body is burning
The feeling of success after a job well done
Reaching a goal
Long talks with good friends about life and philosophy
Summer nights in my hottub under the stars
Those long lost stories my grandpa used to tell us
calvin and hobbes
asterix and obelix
friends obviously... the close ones who talk you through the most difficult decisions and are there with you regardless, the ones who understand when you have a bad day and yell at them.

“And you sleep, your heart is placid, you dream in the joyless wood; in the night nailed in bronze, in the blue dark you lie still and shine. The salt water that towers above your head as the waves goes by you heed not, nor the wind's voice, you press your bright face to the red blanket. If this danger were danger to you, your small ear would attent my words."

Prologue:
A small band of knights descended slowly late in the afternoon from the west into the small village nestled in a quiet forest. The knights exhausted beckoned a passing old farmer for food and rest or where they might receive it. The farmer pushed past the knights ignoring their request towards his little cottage. Once inside the old farmer bolted the door shut, the knights looked about to see that all the others had done the same. The sun set quickly and in the darkness shadows appeared over the ridge the knights grouped together facing the on coming riders. The riders were shadows and swift, moving aggressively they threw torches on to the vegetable gardens and drew polished iron long swords against the weary knights. The battle did not end quickly when the smoke had cleared only one knight stood amongst the fallen bodies on his comrades and those of the riders who appeared from the shadows. Morning was near as the knight fell to his knees weeping helpless
