Life

My life philosophys are grounded in Christian roots, but I maintain an open belief system. I am deeply interested in religious philosophy, particularly the interaction between belief systems and their many similarities. Some of my greatest influences include Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Bede Griffiths, and Ernesto Guevara. When it comes to my political ideals I'm fairly open about my history of Socialism. It is my belief that Capitalism is a failed system, and that Imperialism and the exploitation of people around the world cannot continue. Only through a revolution can we truly be free. I am a born traveller. I cannot stay in one place for an extended period of time without getting the urge to travel. I have travelled to Japan for a short stay, in the future I hope to tour Asia and Europe extensively.

Music

I am both a DJ and producer. As a DJ I spin mostly drum and bass tracks; everything from nu-jump up, to techstep, hardstep, darkstep, and ragga jungle. I've also been known to throw in the occasional breakbeat or hip-hop track. More recently I've delved deeper into the production aspect of electronic music. I am slowly building up a studio enviroment of MIDI keyboards, electronic drum kits, mixers, and compressors. Majority of my productions are software produced, in both Ableton Live 5 and Reason 3 sequencing programs. I produce mostly ambient, idm, and breakbeat tracks. As part of Batteryhead I perform in a live setting, utilizing Ableton Live 5 and multiple MIDI controllers. My musical roots go back to hip-hop, so as well as producing I also MC and human beatbox.

Film

Under GPC Productions I act as a cinematographer. I direct, produce, edit, film, and mix audio for independant films. Subjects include everything from montages of the physical strength of nature, to public service announcements on cellphone usage in public enviroments, to comedic infomercials for human beatboxs. Last year I was presented with the 2005 Jr. Film Production award from Edward Milne Community School. I hope to someday make a living in the film industry (if not the music industry.) I would love to produce documentarys for the National Film Board of Canada.

Athletics

Outside of music, film, and philosophy my life revolves around the growing sport of paintball. I play for Nasty Malicious in the British Columbia Paintball Players League, divisions II/III. Generally I play back, and love the corners and tape. This season we've been performing quite well, with two 2nd place finishes, and one 3rd place finish. I shoot a completely upgraded purple Intimidator, dubbed the Purple People Eater by local players.
