From the clubs to the beaches Winnipegers have found a new way to represent their city. “Peg City” is the infectious new summer classic from Peg city’s own Platinum Black. Just insert disc and dance is the new cure for the summertime blues. See for yourself when hundreds on the dance floor are holding it down for “Peg City” in countless locations around the city. When Platinum Black hits the stage the energy is palpable. Never before has a local hip hop group be able to mobilize the city in such away.
“The crowd response is amazing to have so many people dancing, singing and having a goodtime with each other, to your music is both humbling and inspiring, not to mention pretty damn cool” says Ted-D.
Platinum Black is a Hip Hop trio consisting of Addison “Ted-D Diablo” Sandy, J.T. “Yung R.I.C.O.” Mclaughlin, and Neal “Church” Cornish. Although they have only been operating under the name Platinum Black since January 2005, Platinum Black’s members have been collaborating with each other on performances and recordings since 2004.
Platinum Black was born once they felt they had developed the unique styles of all three artists into a single sound led by our revamped single “Peg City” originally a single by PB member Addison Sandy.
Platinum Black’s music is a blend of Rap and singing over R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul and even Jazz grooves. Described by local radio DJ’s as the “crunk boyz of the north” .asp?epk_id=68052" target = "_blank">and “rocket fuel” music is dance oriented delivered with high energy and visually appealing stage show.
In three short months, Platinum Black has taken Winnipeg by storm, receiving heavy airplay rotation on local R&B station Flava 107.9 as well as performances opening for the notorious 2 Live Crew and a high energy JunoFest showcase during Winnipeg’s Juno Awards.
Their recent distribution deal with Vatikan/Maple/Universal will ensure that the entire nation will soon feel the energy of Platinum Black.
