My 21st Birthday Party
My friend Ben owns the Neptoon Record store on 22nd and Main in Vancouver.
He put together an 8 hour show here starting at noon on International Record Store Day.
This, by far, was one of my best birthday parties. I incorporated the show with my birthday and then had a long ass BBQ later on in the night.

Nardwuar put me in the spotlight and said happy birthday to me while he was performing. (If you can't tell that's me crowd surfing pffsht) I'd say this was probably one of my best birthdays aside from the first show I organized for my Bday when I was turning 15 and the Hokos Bday party 3 years ago.

(I'm posting this now because I just received these photos from Adam Smith, check out his website - he does a lot of awesome photography for a ton of artists!)

SO HANDS DOWN, WITH NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER the two most disturbing/disgusting movie's I've ever seen are Cannibal Holocaust and this movie The Human Centipede.

It was really bad for the 1st half and then a lot better the last half. I actually gagged a couple of times . . . still a pretty crappy movie. But I know a couple of people that would really like it.

This is actually a part from an Italian opera. I had to be a nerd and look up the origins of the song - but I found it pretty interesting. The part she sings is considered an "aria" or mainly a vocalized part of the opera. Apparently the singer Inva Mula didn't use any sort of equipment to play around with vocals - it's all natural.

Hey so I'm looking for as much support from people at this moment for a group of my friends living in a house in East Vancouver dealing with our supposed "Green City" of Vancouver.

Currently, the house rightfully named "The Farmhouse" is a house on 56th and Main that has an abundance of edible plants growing around their entire house. The household lives by a community sustainability mindset and are very green conscious. As one of them told me their "farm" has fed the entire household for months.

If anything these people should be mentors - people in our community we should try to be more like. Unfortunately the city of Vancouver thinks otherwise. . .

Due to a total of 3 complaints by 2 neighbors the city is taking action against the household by forcibly removing a portion of their garden on Wednesday. The Farmhouse started a petition about a week ago and have gained A LOT of support from their neighbors that don't mind it and/or are glad that they have it.

The landlord of their house doesn't find it problematic as well but doesn't want to deal with the $2000 fine he'll have to deal with if it isn't removed.

The by-law they're infringing upon is the UNTIDY PREMISES BY-LAW NO. 4548

And here's the link to The Farmhouse's own blog

Spread the word and stay tuned. I'll supply more information once more comes!

These guys are one of the nicest / coolest people you'll find in the music industry. I did a show with them a couple years back and they were just awesome. I've seen them around Vancouver shows after that and they're always down to hang. For some reason all the bands I come across that end with "nauts" in their name have an instant "okay in my books" way of things.
