    A little someting I wrote out of boredom and lack of sleep.

    The Nature of God

    I am not dogmatic. I have never felt that the any of the major traditions of religion made much sense as a world outlook is concerned. Beautiful and romantic though they are, they are too simple and do not do justice to the mystery and the power that the idea of God could entail. This is not to say however that I am not religious. People will often say that they are not religious, they are spiritual, which is to suggest that they are not dogmatic, but do believe in some 'higher power'. This is confusing, I think to both the person listening to this and the one claiming it. Is religion then confined to believing a particular dogma? Are dogma and religion inextricably confounded? I don't believe so. Your religion is by definition your world view, your window onto all of existence and creation. Your rationalisation of the universe. That would seem to suggest that if you have a wo
