I had a disturbing conversation with a friend of mine today. I will nickname him John Leguizamo because he is a tiny adorable little Pest! anyhoo JL tells me that he believes young guys, including himself, view having a girlfriend as just having a companion to be there, with you and/or for you, and to fill the space next to you, someone to keep you warm at night but not necessarily get you hot and get under your skin. Someone who is no doubt cool and easy to get along with but not necessarily drop dead gorgeous in your book. And i ask him........isn't choosing to officially date someone sort of sending them the idea that you think they have the whole package? Shouldn't you choose to commit yourself to someone you're crazy about inside-out and head to toe? Are you telling me that lots of people just settle for someone they find lukewarm but sorta cute and sorta fun........and sorta available? I don't quite believe him. Maybe he's nuts. Maybe I am.
