ABOUT ME

Daughter, once I thought I lost you.
So completely did I sorrow
No light of hope could find my heart;
No vision of tomorrow.
In my grief, I only saw your loss,
The space where you had been.
When all the while, you were right here,
In a safer place within.
Now, you will never sorrow again,
For only love survives.
Within my heart your memory swells
And shines out through my eyes.
The legacy of love you left
We will strive to carry on.
As long as I live, I'll remember you,
And you will not be gone.

LIKES

Mom, please don't feel guilty
It was just my time to go.
I see you are still feeling sad,
And the tears just seem to flow.

We all come to earth for our lifetime,
And for some it's not many years
I don't want you to keep crying
You are shedding so many tears.

I haven't really left you
Even though it may seem so.
I have just gone to my heavenly home,
And I'm closer to you than you know.

Just believe that when you say my name
I'm standing next to you,
I know you long to see me,
But there's nothing I can do.

But I'll still send you messages
And hope you understand,
That when your time comes to "cross over",
I'll be there to take your hand

DISLIKES

I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine, He said,
for you to love the while she lives and mourn for when she's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty two or three,
but will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She'll bring her charms to gladden you, and shall her stay be brief,
you'll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
but there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true
and from the throngs that crowd life's lanes I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labour vain,
nor hate me when I come to call to take her back again?

I fancied that I heard them say: Dear Lord, thy will be done!
For all the joy thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may,
and for the happiness we've known, forever grateful stay;
but shall the angels call for her much sooner than we've planned,
we'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.

Though death is dreadful, it is also good. Positive. An open doorway. An opportunity. Something to celebrate. The first Christians knew this. They decorated their gravesites with bright, colorful, powerful pictures. They celebrated the anniversary of the deaths of their loved ones — not in “memory” of them,— but as their birthdays unto eternity. Today we are here to celebrate the birthday of Cari’s life unto eternity.

What happened that day, one year ago, still effects us all. The memory of the one who brought so much laughter and joy. It may be a sad time, but we have got to think about where she is now. The angels took her away to a special place in the heavens. She now is sleeping on clouds, eating whatever she wants without gaining a pound, drinking all the pop she wants, and we’re still here to mourn. But don’t worry about not seeing her again. The time will come for that special moment with your loved one, or ones. But now you have to focus on something that's more important....Your family, Your fr
