I might not be your first, your last, or your only
you've cared about someone else before and possibly will again
but if you care for me now, what else matters?
You can make me laugh, when I dont even want to smile
so i'm going to hold onto you and give you the most i can.
You're probably not going to quote poetry ..
or be thinking about me every second of the day
but you will give me a part of you that you know i can break
so i won't hurt you, i won't change you
and won't expect more than you can give me.
ill smile when you make me happy, ill yell when you make me mad
and miss you when your not within arms reach. .
But give me a chance to show you
what we can be toegther
I remember when getting high meant swinging at the playground
The worst thing you could get from boys was cooties
Mom was your hero & Dad was the boy you were going to marry
Your worst enemies were your siblings
Race issues were who could run the fastest
War was a card game
Life was simple and care free
But what i remember most is wanting to grow up

The hours of practice,
The coaches who pushed you
The teammates who believed in you, And the fans who cheered for you.
There's a little girl who touched the ball,
Who fell in love with the game,

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will. You'll have your heart broken and you'll break others. You'll fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them, and you'll cry because time is flying by. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, forgive freely, and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off. Speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend. Fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, and smile until your face hurts. Don't be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all; live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back..
