FAVORITE QUOTES:

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
Alan Watts ~

Those who are too lazy and comfortable to think for themselves and be their own judges obey the laws. Others sense their own laws within them...
~ Herman Hesse

You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning...

And that, I think, was the handle - that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting - on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave...

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark - that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

Hunter S. Thompson ~

What is inside the box is known: What is outside the box is unknown: Who made the box?
~ Robert Anton Wilson

There are terrible people who, instead of solving a problem, bungle it and make it more difficult for all who come after. Whoever can't hit the nail on the head should, please, not hit it at all.
Nietzsche ~

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
~ Hunter S. Thompson

If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is: Infinite.
William Blake ~

Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security.
~ Benjamin Franklin

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
R.W. Emerson ~

Every great advance in natural knowledge has involved the absolute rejection of authority.
~ Aldous Huxley

I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
Ayn Rand ~

If you will practice being fictional for a while, you will understand that fictional characters are sometimes more real than people with bodies and heartbeats.
~ Richard Bach

The one-eyed man watched them go, and then he went through the iron shed to his shack behind. It was dark inside. He felt his way to the mattress on the floor, and he stretched out and cried in his bed, and the cars whizzing by on the highway only strengthened the walls of his lonliness.
John Steinbeck ~

Death needs time for what it kills to grow in.
~ William S. Burroughs

Thomas Jefferson said the book of revelations was the ravings of a lunatic. George Bush organizes his foreign policy around it.
Bill Maher ~

Let's go invent tomorrow rather than worry about what happened yesterday.
~ Steve Jobs

I'd give a lot to have Steve's taste.
Bill Gates ~

The great epochs of our life come when we gain the courage to rechristen our evil as what is best in us.
~ Nietzsche

Fire in the dark day. Clean sparks diving down. Cool in the waterway, where the baptised drown. Naked in the cold sun, breathing life like fire. I thought I was the only one, but that was just a lie... 'Cause I heard it in the wind... and I saw it in the sky... and I thought it was the end... I thought it was the 4th of July.
Soundgarden ~

To everything... turn, turn, turn.
~ The Byrds

This is the strangest life I've ever known...
Jim Morrison ~

This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it.
~ R. W. Emerson

Chris is going to be very sorry that he abused his powerz.

Miscellaneous:

I'm a brown belt in karate + If you're interested in learning karate, check out the Bushidokan Karate Club in St. Albert. It is a great group of people and has awesome instructors. + Currently reading: The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein and A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon + I used to be the lead singer in a metal band called Resonance + For about 15 minutes, we were the band everyone in Edmonton was talking about, and then we smashed an acoustic guitar on stage at RED's in West Edmonton Mall, injuring our lead guitar player in the process, and consequently got banned from RED's and most other bars in the city + Fortunately, no one remembers your name in this city, so a permanent ban turned into only a couple of months. Everyone had forgotten about us and all was well + Until we completely self destructed + I now play in an acoustic/psychedelic/rock band called Johnny Feelgood. We haven't been banned from any bars yet. I still get the itch to play in a heavier band every now and then. + I am currently kicking foxpilot's butt at foosball. He is a devious ... but his mother loves him.
