~Love at first sight. Something to believe in, but few have ever experienced it. Love can grow in many different ways. It can come from an appreciation of knowing that someone is truly a good person, a very rare quality, it can come from finding that a person makes you feel complexly whole when you're with that person, or it can come from (I believe) meeting someone and just knowing, whether you fear admitting it is a different story.
I have been told that love at first sight is a result of past lives. If you felt love for someone the second you saw them, but a few months or a few years down the road it doesn't work out, then maybe, just maybe, you knew and loved that person in a past life and you needed to finish the relationship. I have also been told that love cannot be known at first sight, but only after you know someone inside out. How can this be true? How can you love a baby the second you know it's inside of you if you know nothing about it? You don't just learn to love it because you have to. And how can you love it unconditionally? It's not because it's grown inside of you, that would mean that you've just "learned" to love it, and you do because you have to.
I once looked into a persons eyes and realized that I loved him. I had only known him for a few short hours, but I new, when I looked him right in the eyes that I had never seen what I saw at that second, and I knew just what it was. Whether it was because I loved him in a past life, or I was crazy, it was there, and I knew it.
The rules of true love are this:
When you say "I love you," it doesn't always mean forever, it means right now, at this very second, I know that I love you.
It always sneaks up on you, when you least expect it
You can't help who you love, and unfortunately, you can't help who loves you.
You CAN learn to love someone, and you CAN love someone at first sight.
Love doesn't always mean attraction, or common interest, it means that you can tell someone your deepest, darkest secret, and they will listen, take it in, and they will make it their second deepest darkest secret, because we all have our own.
We're never too young or too old to love, but we are too afraid.
The point of this is to say that whoever or whatever you chose to love, make it true. Live and love each day so that when it all ends, whether it's tomorrow, or when death does you part, you can look back and think, even if I knew the most aching heartache that I feel right now, I would do it again and I wouldn't change a thing. Life is too short, there's no time for regret. I know that some people have a hard time telling someone that they love them, so just remember this; actions really do speak louder than words.
Love is a wonderful thing.
