A group of students in my school went on a field trip to the Curtis Dagenais murder trial for their Law class. They had been excited about it for weeks, and I myself even thought it was kind of cool.
But when they got back, all they talked about was how much of a creep Dagenais looked like, and that Constable Michelle Knopp was hot.
I didn't think much about it until, a few days later, by chance, I happened to hear something I never wanted to hear on the news.
I didn't catch much of it.
All I heard was "...has been murdered in the small town of Delburne Alberta."
I brushed it off, saying to myself, no... It couldn't be. Nothing bad ever happens in Delburne.
But then I thought back.
And so many terrible things came rushing to my head.
The so-called curse of 2010.
There was Nathan Redman, Kyle Brewster.
Sydney's sister, Matts dad.
Casey Wilson.
And it hit me.
And I prayed.
"Oh please God no. Don't let it be someone I know.
Don't let it be anyone, please Lord, let me have misheard it."
But I had
