I first herad of "Tupac" when Brenda got a Baby dropped
In 91 when you was listening to 80s pop.
So before you pull a butcher knife from out the kitchen drawer,
I had a couple of his tapes I liked strictly for.
But today I went into the liquor store for knob creek,
and heard some people argue over Tupac and Mob Deep.
One of the dudes said that "Tupac was a martyr and a genius"
I said "Excuse me, let's get this properly distinguished"
I listen to you talking like he's Jesus
when the only miracle is all these ??? of his releases.
Malcolm X was a martyr. Albert Einstein was a genius.
And Ghandi... And Ghandi spoke the soujorner truth
when he spoke, and he never spoke about getting a gat to shoot me.
So don't get me wrong, the dude was passionate and all
but as an actor, and a rapper, Pac was only AVERAGE to me.
This guy was mind-fucking confused,
and when I left I tripped and accidentally scuffed up his shoes
he said "Those are vintage Jordans bitch, what the fuck!"
Than he stepped back and hit me with a swift uppercut.
Ironically he kicked me in the face until my blood stained his nikes.
And he dropped a hundred dollar bill beside me...
I was to hurt to ask why, the next day I went to scribble jam with a black eye...
Anybody else have that?
Something they love to do.
And you don't even do it for fun, work, because you have to.
You do it just for the sake of doing it.
That's passion right there.
Whatever it is, I don't give a fuck, wether it's designing cakes, breakdancing, drawing, singing, or even something out of the ordinary like... pen twirling or some shit; as long as you give it your all than it's all gravy. Don't let anyone stand in your way.
What's my point? My point is as long as you've got the dedication, the love, the will to do something... no matter how utterly terrible you are at it, that's respectable.
You are instantly better than anybody without the heart for what you do.
