The After School Special is a thing that happens at the Gate (downtown Lethbridge, Alberta) every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 8 pm. Hanging out, hot drink, video games, good music and other cools stuff happens up until 6pm when live shows happen. Often local bands, sometimes out of town bands, and high school bands as much as we can get them.... cos the after school special is for high school peeps,, although ALL peeps are welcome.
The after school special is put on mostly by volunteers from the gate.
And what is the Gate? you might ask....
The gate is a church that is really awesome (the link to the website is below). One of the reasons I love the gate so much is cos it's a church full of artists who love God. As a community that is a church, we have so much freedom to express our love for God in so many different ways... including putting on punk shows....
If you want to get involved in the after school special, you don't have to go to the gate. You don't have to believe in God. You don't have to like punk rock. Just message me if you're interested.
