    [why we're here]

One of my best friends and i decided to create this page, to inform people on what greenhouse gases are, how to help stop them, what they do, and how to relieve the environment of our impact on it. Neither of us are perfect, and we both still do things that are bad for the environment, but we are learning, and working hard on becoming more eco.friendly. We have researched, and looked up lots of helpful stuff, and are here to pass that info onto you!

many people have question about what global warming is, and we're here to explain! in the past [thousands of years] there have been natural rises and falls in the earths temperature, and that is what glovbal warming is; a warming of the entire globe in general. You may think "then what is the problem, if this process happens naturally throughout time?" the problem, is that although it is meant to happen, it is not meant to happen as quickly and dramatically as it is! due to humans behavior,a nd our impact on earth, the temperature is rising extravagantly. There are many ways in which you can help, which we have also covered (see the "How We Can Help" section!)

    [/font][/center]

greenhouse gases, are, in part, the cause for the major rise in temperatures happening world-wide these past years. They are the gases [such as Nitrogen Oxides, Carbon Dioxides from fossil fuel combustion, Methane, etsc] that are produced from the burning of fossil fuels, and other such toxins used to create energy. As the world moves forward technologically, more and more energy is needed for new technologies to work. Energy is produced by a turbine being turned from hot steam produced from the burning of coals and oils. There are also other methods of energy production that cause harm to the environment. The toxins [pollution] released from the burning of fossil fuels [oils, coal, etc] is then put into the environment, where it creates a film on our atmosphere. this film gladly lets in sunlight and warth, but unallows it from exiting, which leads to a great build up of heat in our atmosphere, thus bringing us back to the concept of global warming!

As i explained above, the main cause of global warming is from the burning of fossil fuels, so, obviously, a good way to decrease the rapid speed of earths temperature rising, is too produce less greenhouse gases, and therefor burn less fossil fuels. Many companies and researchers in recent times are learning new ways to produce electricity and energy that do not burn fossil fuels, or create very much pollution. Some of these ways are using the sun (solar power) or the wind (wind power), or even the power of a rising (or falling) tide. Support these businesses, and buy things that are powere by sunlight, or wind, etc. The more people who buy pronducts like these, the more that will be produced. When grocery shopping, bring your own reusable bags! Try buying things in glass bottles (its 100% recyclable) that are organic (they dont contain chemicals or harmful preservatives, and are therefor better for the environment). Buy things that are energy efficient (this means that theyu waste less energy, and therefor need less energy to keep them running). There are MANY different ways that you can help, and click the below link to read more. This is the most fantastic site for globam warming help, and understanding:
