So uhm i wrote a new song
its deeper than what i usually write
hope you like it
its about how the media picks on those who cant afford to lose whatever little they have
and also how we have all (including myself) been dragged into media images and how they make us believe what we should wear and do.
please reply and tell me what you think, so far it is untitled, if u have a suggestion then tell me
thanks
You spend so much time
Dreaming and wishing away
Your life and your pride
What you want
But not what you need
You’re living a bad dream
You don’t make a lot of money
But enough to satisfy your wants
For whatever’s next on the catwalk
A new designer shirt and shoes
So you can look good
While begging for your food
(chorus)
So I see, you have bought into what they want you to believe
So what’s this, your falling down onto your knees
So it seems, this media is a swallowing disease
Can you see, reality isn’t really so easy after all
They sit back in their leather chairs
And smoking their Cuban cigars
Watching you on the streets
With coins jangling in the case of your guitar
The rain soaks you to the bone
While they wait in the comfort of their home
You can’t relax, the bills are coming in
The TV sings of the newest fad
You need the new fashion trend
The electricity will have to wait
Your media addiction is calling you
Better go shell out to get your fix
(chorus)
So I see, you have bought into what they want you to believe
So what’s this, your falling down onto your knees
So it seems, this media is a
Can you see, reality isn’t really so easy after all
Can we all not see
What they are doing to our minds
Getting rich from our demise
Gaining wealth to accessorize
Raking in our money and lives
So we can look in the mirror and say
“I look just like everyone else today”
