1. the class Cephalopoda, such as the octopus, squid, cuttlefish, or nautilus, having a large head, large eyes, prehensile tentacles, and, in most species, an ink sac containing a dark fluid used for protection or defense.


Octopus are obviously the best out of the Cephalopoda family hands down. Octopus have rectangular pupils and can see polarized light which humans cannot. They are incredibly smart Octopus can open jar lids and mimic certain movements, they can also do puzzles and juggle (not really but they can throw things and catch them). They are also suprisingly affectionate.Octopus have great eyesight and can taste using the suction cups on their tentacles and they can't hear. They have no bones and 3 hearts. When the Octopus is in danger it is known to change color, "ink" the predator, and have autotomishing limbs (can grow back arms that are torn off, can detach arms on purpose). When male Octopus reproduce they detach their "hectocotylus" arm which contains spermatophores and the detached arm embeds itself in the mantle cavity of the female Octopus. Males commonly die after this, and female Octopus die of starvation while caring for the eggs. Octopus are also pretty strong and break out of aquariums when they feel like it.
