All I know, time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It’s so unreal, didn’t look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn’t even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go
I kept everything inside and even though I tried it all fell apart

In life we search high and low
For that special someone to cross
Our path, to melt our hearts
And make us laugh.

We sometimes pass on
Something so good without
Even giving it a chance

We ask ourselves is this the one?
The one that will make me happy?
And sometimes hurt to many times
In the past we push them away,
Put them to the side and forget
About them, convincing ourselves
They weren’t the one anyway.

Moving on to the next, just to find
That we are starting to like this person too
We pull them apart, pick all the bad qualities
And forget that not one person is perfect,
That everyone has flaws,
Everyone has a past,
Everyone needs love,
And everyone needs a chance.

I am very guilty for all the above
I just need a man that can break this
Habit show me that there are good men.
And teach me to let go and relearn to love.

Someone that will show me that
Trusting is ok,
That caring is a good thing
That love feels great
And being loved is a wonderful feeling.

I need someone to break my barrier
To knock down my prison wall
To unlock my heart
Walk in close the door behind
Them and throw away the key.

To hold me, to trust me
To never ask me to change
To care for me as I will them,
To experience the unconditional love I have
To offer and share,
To feel something beyond their imagination,
To teach me things I don’t know
To show me places I’ve never been
To travel this world with me
And hold my hand, be there for me
As I will for them no matter what.

Someone to rescue me from my loneliness
To hold me through the night, kiss my lips
And tell me everything is alright.
To be my one and only never to stray
To be faithful, honest and loyal
No matter how long apart if need be,
To make sure all the little things are
Appreciated and never forgotten.
