A happy home consisting of a set of parents and two sets of grandparents might only be a picture in a book. To prevent it from becoming a distant dream for their child, most parents take pains to plan holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and even picnics or school do’s in honor of Grandparents. But the scenario changes wildly when the parents themselves are sucked into marital discord and hardly have time to arrange these little things that are so important for a child upbringing during the tender formative years. Thankfully, even in the case of a divorce or impending legal separation, the grandparents themselves can cast themselves into the breach and plead the family court for grandparents custody.

However, Grandparents custody is not obtained as easily as it is suggested here. The courts are rather cold to the pleas put in my grandparents asking for custody or visitation rights. In some cases, the plaintiffs may have trouble with the biological parents in the form of conflict in methods of upbringing something as trivial as how long the child is allowed to stay up after dinner. At the slightest whiff of tension in these relationships, the court would be disinclined to grant Grandparents custody as such verdicts will only serve to rake up even more sensitive issues among parties who are already at outs with one another.
