"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."
--- King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz of Saudi Arabia -- Jeddeh 1993
...its great America has such great allies.
but what did they expect?...
...prior to the 1979 revolution, the US was Iran's major ally. Billions of dollars in aid...strike fighters and training. Of course to punish the new fundamentalist state, the US backs Saddam Hussein in his nearly decade long military campaign of tyranny against Iran...but of course, they can't have Iraq get too strong...so to even it out, the CIA secretly funds Iran, even while US foreign policy openly ostricises them. They tried to play both Iran and Iraq, hoping they would wipe each other off the map. Instead they made enemies. No suprise. All in the name of capitalism and spreading "democracy". See my previous entry on that topic. Instead of forcing both countries to "see the light"...the fundamentalist grip in Iran is firm and Iraq turned on the US. Other than for the oil, why is the US in Iraq right now?...so george "dubya" could finish the job his father failed to and punish saddam for his "disloyalty" to the US regime.
