    ABOUT ME

    I'm Aden
I'm from the booming town of Westlock AB. Booming or boring, I'm sure its one of the two.
I'll give a very quick bio of me. Or, if you don't care, i encourage you to go stare intently at a shiny object.
NOTE: The following is completely and 100% true. If you don't believe me, ask someone I know.

I'm tall and skinny and enjoy eating. I love my high metabolism.
I have little coodination, and less skill. I will never be a professional sports player. I'll be lucky to be a mediocre sports player. I don't care.
At school, I do drama, Model UN, Students' Union, and band. It's sometihing to do.
I barely watch TV or play computer. I don't have time, and its a waste of the little I have.
I love music. Any kind. I always have at least one song stuck in my head.
I am ecumenical, which is a big word for "I don't think that any church has a monopoly on the truth"
I believe in God. I don't push my beliefs at anyone, because I think that everyone has to come to their own spiritual conclusions.
I am resolutely open-minded. You cannot come to an informed decision unless you listen to both sides. People, ideas, whatever.
I firmly and strongly believe in being nice to everyone. For more on this, see my dislikes.
I believe in helping other people when they're in need.
I believe in balance. I've found that this applies to almost everything in life. You need balance in life for health and happiness.
I believe that happiness is a choice, so you won't see me sad ro angry. Just laughing!
I understand that the world can be a crappy place. I accept that and don't cry over it.
But no matter what, I believe that I must try to make it better, even if its a little at a time.

Wow, that was deep. Okay thats out of my system, I can go back to being unserious. I almost never say anything totally seriously, so that last bit was a bit out of character. Even if I think that, don't expect me to ramdomly start spouting stuff like that.
You'd have to bring it up first.

btw, if you are female, single, and good-looking, and are impressed with any on the above, please tell me! ;-)

Now, if you think you may have met me, and you've never been to Westlock (as hard as that is to imagine), you may well have met me at one of the following:
    -Adventures in Citizenship 2005
    -SUNIA 2005 (week b)
    -Canadian Francophone Games 2005
    -Alberta Fracophone Games 2005
If you have indeed met me at one of the above, please leave a comment. If you haven't met me, and would just like to say something, go ahead. Compliments are preferred! ;-)

    LIKES

All of the following are wholly endorsed by myself. If you have not experience any of the following, get out of your computer chair and go try them! Now! You only live once.

    TV:
-Family Guy, The Colbert Report, and The Mercer Report. So hilarious, and usually so politically incorrect.

    Movies:
-Anything that is moving, powerful, or makes you think. Fight Club is amazing, as is American History X and John Q
-Anything Irish. Waking Ned Divine and In The Name Of The Father are great.
-Some comedies. Legends such as Airplane! and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. For the record, Napoleon Dynamite is a crappy movie!

    Music:
I am very eclectic, so you are not guaranteed to like any of the following:
    -Blue Rodeo
    -Great Big Sea
    -Nirvana
    -Johnny Cash
    -The Chieftains
    -Fall Out Boy
    -Corb Lund
    -Spirit of the West
    -Terry McDade
    -The Offspring
    -The Rolling Stones
    -The Beatles
    -Stevie Ray Vaughan
    -Sublime
    -Lynyrd Skynyrd
    -Supertramp
-U2. (Bono is my hero. The irish rule the world!)
    -Amber Pacific
    -The Arrogant Worms
    -Audioslave
    -Big Wreck
    -Eric Clapton
    -Gipsy
    -Kenny Chesney
    -Led Zeppelin
    -Leonard Cohen

HA!, and thats only the bands whose albums I have. Now, if you think that there is a group that should be on the list and isn't, PLEASE LEND ME THE CD! I AM POOR AND CANNOT AFFORD CD'S! I NEED TO MOOCH OFF OF OTHERS!

    Sports:
-Since joining the fun hocker league, I have realized that hockey is truly the best sport in the world. Bar none.
-When its not winter, soccer and paintballing are the best sports around. Having big, long, lanky legs helps at all 3 of the these sports.

    Cars:
-DOESN'T MATTER! I don't have enough money to buy anything anyway.

    Reading:
For some sick and bizarre reason, i really enjoy reading nonfiction. Especially about history, geography, and current affairs.
The best book ever is Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People". It was written in the 30's and is the classic human relations textbook. It's one revelation after another.
    other books:
    -Tuesdays With Morrie
    -The End of Oil
    -Guns, Germs and Steel
    -Calven and Hobbes
    -the Artemis Fowl series

    DISLIKES

I have very few dislikes. I'm really an amazingly laid back guy. I'm easy to please, and hugely tolerant and forgiving of people.

Having said that, there are a few things that i hate. Passionately.

    -INTOLERANCE
    -CLOSED-MINDEDNESS
-MEN WHO ABUSE WOMEN IN ANY WAY
and most of all A LACK OF DECENCY OR COMPASSION TOWARDS OTHER PEOPLE

I am very forgiving towards people. I try to treat everyone well, and have respect for everyone, no matter what. However, if someone has one or more of the above traits, I completely lose respect for them. I'm used to intolerance and closed-mindedness; I live in Westlock! But those combined with lack of decency and compassion, I cannot tolerate. I especially cannot stand when someone is mean towards someone weaker than them. I have a huge problem with people like that. These are about the only cases when I get angry. Really angry.
