Picture a boy, so certain of his place, but so lost in space. He knows exactly what he wants, and pursues it with such passion. He loves, he learns, he grows and shows no signs of stopping. He is self-aware, albeit self-conscious, confident, albeit hesitant, and outgoing, albeit reserved. He is guarded against all emotion. His control of his world hinges on his ability to maintain the existence he has always known, it is his comfort.

One day, in his travels, this boy's world is shaken ever so slightly. Not enough for him to notice the movement, but enough to awaken his subconscious. These shakes begin to occur more frequently, and begin to strike like waves beating against him, waking him up to the refreshing coolness they carry. Before he ever thinks to utter words of affection, he has already began wading into these waters. Before he has time to question the safety that may, or may not, lie there within, he is already waist deep.

The source of the waves? A girl. Not the girl, simply a girl.
