I'm Tam. I think too much. My life is busy (and pretty awesome right now). I just finished a job teaching and now work as a support worker and arts facilitator at a youth drop-in centre. I also have two part time jobs, one writing for a local paper and one working for a politician. I have two dogs. I write a lot. I'm a bit music obsessed and my tv is always on in the background.

I talk too much.

I'm queer and I'm an activist, whatever that means. I volunteer a lot and usually have, oh, a bazillion or so things on the go. I like it that way. I'll sleep when I’m dead. I mostly work with anti-homophobia/bullying projects and GLBTQ youth. I help with other random causes and organizations. I host things sometimes. I stay up late and don't sleep near enough.

Lately I've been dedicating a ton of time to politics/government and activism. I do a lot of interviews and help friends with promoting/planning/hosting events. I'm just fumbling my way through life, learning how to do new and random things as I go.

I'm trying my best to make a difference in the world.

I can be intense and I'm probably too protective for my own good. I'm analytical and logical, compassionate and blunt. I have an overwhelming compulsion to fix people. I'm usually stressed out and tend to get stuck in my own head. I'm loyal and (mostly) reliable. I think real wisdom is knowing your flaws and limitations. Sometimes I make mistakes, but I'm trying.

I know a little about a lot of things but not a lot about many.

I'm not actually that serious. I'm kind of a goof and I'm definitely a big dork. I'm alright with that. I have a ton of guilty pleasures. Commercials and bad movies make me cry. I love stuff like Bring It On, Sex and the City, She’s the Man, The Office, Project Runway, stupid websites and celebrity gossip. I've been trying to teach myself how to cook. I've been trying to read more actual books (and going to a lesbian book club!). Every now and then I play a video game. I love to make inappropriate jokes whenever possible. I'm a little bit all over the place.

I think that above all, you've got to fight for the things you believe in.

And there’s a good chance that right now, I’m very sleepy.

Strongly dislike:
- People who don't vote and blame it on the system being corrupt or ineffective. You're just lazy and apathetic. Make a statement and spoil your ballot on election day, otherwise it's just an excuse. And if you don't vote, you better never, ever complain about anything that the government does.
- I have a problem with hard drugs or hardcore addictions to soft drugs.
- Morons who use the word 'gay' to mean stupid. Not only does it make you look like an ignorant fool, it doesn�t even make sense.
- If you think you're really mature, you're probably not.
- People who spend a lot of time complaining about drama. Look, it's pretty simple that if you're getting sucked into it all the time, you've been causing or involving yourself in stupid shit. It's not the fault of some mysterious drama goblin who just dropped a shroud of ridiculous arguments on your head, okay?
- Spiders. I hate spiders.
- The Who�s Baba O'Riley, because it seems to be everywhere lately. You know the 'teenage wasteland' song. I have no problem with the it specifically, but it was played at a friend�s funeral after he took his own life and I haven�t been able to disconnect the two since. I wish the resurgence would end.
- The 24 hours in a day. I could really use about 10 more.
- People with no manners or understanding of politeness. Is that hard to hold a door? Give up your seat for an old lady? I hate you.
- Subtitled movies. I want to like them, but I just don�t.
- When they subtitle people speaking English with heave accents on television, that bothers me.

I’m pretty sure my family has already taken care of my original birthday wish list, which was pretty much a bunch of CDs and a book, so I had to make a new list in case anyone feels inclined to buy me shit. But remember, your presence around me, spirited support and beautiful companionship is all I ever truly need.
