We need wilderness because we are wild animals. Every man needs a place where he can go to go crazy in peace. Every Boy Scout troop deserves a forest to get lost, miserable, and starving in. Even the maddest murderer of the sweetest wife should get a chance for a run to the sanctuary of the hills. If only for the sport of it. For the terror, freedom, and delerium...

To sum it up for all of you, me and jamie weren't expecting the little bit of rapid that we put into, little did we know, about 100m down the river it turned alittle shall we say, turbulant... after a nice little swim through a class III rapid we did some more easier but constant rapids for a while. I then decided that that big ledge we saw while driving up might be the class IV ledge that a guide had told me was just above the put in for the rafts ( the one that the guide should have said) we decided that we should portage as the road was close to hte river at that point. Walking back we saw the ledge again, and thanked our lucky stars we decided to walk it. With the water still white with foam 20 feet afterwards we knew that that wass the drop the raft guide was talking about. We would have gotten absolutey owned, After
